 The Pinna

The Pinna (also called the "Auricle") is the flap of skin around the hole leading to the Auditory Canal.

Its porpose is to trap the sound waves that travel towards the ear and direct them into the Canal.

External Auditory Canal

Your Auditory Canal is the tube that connects the Pinna to the Ear Drum.

Its purpose is to tunnel the sound waves to the Ear Drum.

 Tympanic Membrane (Ear Drum)

Your Ear Drum is a tissue that is viberated by sound waves. Its purpose is one of the main reasons we hear. Its viberations travel throughout the rest of the ear causing movements to the rest of the parts.
